So this news story was about a Army special forces soldier, who was writing a memoir and had it finish but when he published it the Pentagon blacked out sentences to paragraphs in the memoir. The Pentagon stated that the infomation in the text put the U.S. national security at risk. Army Reserve Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer the author of the book, said that he had clearance for the book, when in fact he did get clearance but just from one of the three agencies needed. My opinion on the matter is that he should not of released the book in the first place. That by him in the military and knowing what it is like and knowing how important the information is that he knows, he should have never published the book. Also I'm sure that after he had the text from the book passed by one agency they told him to go and clear it with the next. After all we are still in a war and as a man who knows first hand what its like there, this should've never happened
